Ethical Gathering & Foraging Techniques:
Fall Roots and Oxymels for Digestive Aid.
Welcome to Ethical Gathering and Foraging Techniques with a special focus on Dandelion and Burdock roots and making oxymels for digestive aid.
In this class we will begin with the ethics around gathering roots in the fall. We will touch base on the simple economic, environmental, western and indigenous ethical practices around gathering roots. We will learn how to gather and process roots of both Dandelion and Yellow Burdock through demonstration and hands-on experience in my home garden.
The Second half of this class will be hands-on processing of fresh Dandelion and Burdock roots gathered fresh and infusing them into organic apple cider vinegar and organic local raw honey specifically for but not limited to digestive aid. We will get to know the ingredients through their nutrients, medicinal properties and more. We will also learn a few tricks to making fresh processed oxymels and finish with getting to enjoy homemade root vinegar dressings and vegetable ferments done with a 24hr quick refrigerator process with the root vinegar made by yours truly.
Each person will get to take home a pint mason jar of their oxymel they made from the roots, organic raw apple cider vinegar and local raw honey. Take home a class outline, simple medicine making recipes.
More details will be emailed to you with the exact address in Olympia and any additional information after registration is complete.
